The Vanuatu Islands are with out doubt one of the most beautiful places on earth.

The 83 jungle clad islands that make up this south sea paradise are an exotic mix of coral cays, extensive reefs systems, sparkling lagoons, endless sandy beaches and amazingly happy islanders. These “islands of smiles” truly are a fishermen’s paradise.

The warm, tropical waters are home to an incedible variety of marine life and fishing experiences. The islands are well known for the bluewater fishing focusing on Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and Dog Tooth and Yellowfin Tuna. But it does not stop there. Reef fishing produce huge Coral Trout, Red Bass and others and wading the sandy shores will land Giant Trevally and Queenfish. The list of species is endless.

Cruising Vanuatu’s northern islands out of Espiritu Santo on a five day adventure will give the avid and novice fishermen a diverse range of experiences that will never be forgotten.

We have a dedicated program of fishing cruises designed to allow the maximum amount of fishing time daily. We also have our “Bali Hai” departures which are perfect for the fishermen and the non fishing partner. These include a diverse program of opportunities to do cultural activities with village visits, bush walks, beach combing, snorkeling, swimming and kayaking and of course plenty of fishing. The Vessel

The Island Escape is a 42meter, 500 ton luxury ship designed to cater for up to 20 guests in 10 twin or double berth cabins. This vessel sets a new standard in liveaboard fishing cruising with all the comfort and ammenities you would expect.

The eight crew are there to ensure the guests enjoy a great days fishing and also relax in comfort at the end of the day and the on board chef will prepare gourmet dining. The fully air conditioned ship has a well stocked bar and wine cellar, large dining and lounge area, ample ourdoor deck space, satellite TV and library. The air conditioned guest rooms are very large by nautical standards each with queen or twin single beds and own en-suite.

Guides And Equipment

The Island Escape has up to five smaller boats including fully surveyed 7 meter sports fishing vessels.

The fishing guides are professional and very experienced in Vanuatu fishing. They will teach you the intricacies of fishing in these warm,tropical waters and ensure you hook up on as many species as possible. Whether casting the reefs for large Coral Trout, trolling the depths for giant “Doggies” or wading the coral cays for 20kg+ G.T’s their guidance and experience will put you in the best position.

The ship is equipped with professional quality lure fishing tackle and gear. The equipment is provided to clients on a replace if lost or damaged basis. We suggest you bring your own fly fishing gear.

Getting There

Air Vanuatu has flights from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland to Espiritu Santo via Port Vila several times a week.
